Job description:
Overall Job Purpose:
The Senior Fleet Management System Dispatcher is responsible for effectively managing the Dispatch team using the Fleet Management System (FMS) to ensure the efficient operation of Enterprise mining and long haul activities. This role encompasses critical responsibilities, including QA/QC measures for contractor compliance with material management and ore control, providing essential support to stakeholders for accurate and timely ore delivery, and optimising long-haul monitoring and reporting.
Specific Job Responsibilities:
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
System Leadership and Oversight:
-
Lead and oversee the efficient operation and monitoring of the Mining Fleet Management System.

Establish an efficient standard radio communication system to influence the crew to follow through instructions and communicate with senior management on production progress.
Contractor Compliance and Material Management:
-
Conduct rigorous QA/QC checks to ensure contractors adhere to material management and ore control guidelines.
-
Collaborate closely with contractors to rectify any deviations and enhance compliance.
-
Streamline material flows, reducing unplanned ore loss, dilution, and misclassification.
Stakeholder Support and Collaboration:
-
Provide critical support to stakeholders, ensuring timely and correct delivery of ore.

Foster strong working relationships with cross-functional teams to align material management objectives.
-
Address stakeholder concerns collaboratively to optimise material handling processes.
-
Long Haul Optimisation: Utilise the Fleet Management System to optimise long haul material management and haul truck assignments.
Data Analysis and Decision-Making:

Analyse Fleet Management System data to make informed decisions, drive and train Dispatch team to utilise the FMS to its full potential.

Identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced ore control.

Implement data-driven solutions to minimise operational inefficiencies and material miss management.
Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
-
Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to refine material management and ore control strategies.

Champion innovation and best practices to drive operational excellence.
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement improvements throughout the material handling process.
Operational Efficiency and Safety:
-
Ensure strict adherence to safety and compliance regulations within the Fleet Management System.

Generate regular reports detailing system performance, contractor compliance, and material management metrics.
-
Coordinate safety emergency incidents/accidents with ERT and escalate to key mining management leadership.

Assist in ensuring a safe shift, including monitoring of safety conditions and implementing processes and standards driving towards a safety culture.
Data Integrity and Automation:

Ensure Dispatch team maintains full data integrity, accuracy, and reliability, including all data relating to Production and Maintenance.

Attend production review meetings as required and ensure an understanding of business needs and objectives.

Develop strategies for effective data analysis and reporting.
-
Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor.

Proficiency in operating and optimising operations using FMS to oversee mining and hauling operations.

Strong understanding of material management/ ore control and QA/QC protocols in mining operations.

Experience required to perform in this job:
-
Minimum five years’ relevant experience or equivalent.
-
In depth knowledge of Fleet Management Systems.
-
At least 2 years’ practical experience in open pit operations.
-
Experience supporting operational critical systems in a 24×7-production environment.
-
Experience with Reporting and Business Intelligence and visualisation tools such as Power BI, SSRS, SSIS and Excel.
Qualifications
:
-
A Bachelor of Information Technology or relevant degree.
-
A Certificate or Diploma in Mining or Geology will be an advantage.
-
Possess a valid Driver’s License as a minimum.
