Job Description:*

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, checking, and analyzing financial reports and records. The ideal candidate will have a keen understanding of financial regulations and accounting processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under strict deadlines. This role requires someone who is able to handle all finance department functions

*Responsibilities: *

1. Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
2. Document financial transactions by entering account information.
3. Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
4. Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
5. Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
6. Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
7. Budgeting and forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecast, providing insights and recommendations.
8. Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
9. Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
10. Manage monthly payroll process to ensure timely accurate and timely compensation
11. Tax compliance: Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations (VAT, INCOME TAX, PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA)

*Requirements: *

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (CA, ACCA, CIMA).
2. Membership/Certification with professional body e.g ZICA
3. Proven experience as an accountant with a minimum of 2 years plus in a similar role.
4. Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Hands-on experience with accounting software like Pastel, Dove, ERP.
6. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
7. Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail.
8. Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information.
9. Strong numerical skills, business acumen and interest.
10. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
11. Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
