POSTION – ACCOUNTANT

Purpose of the Job

To provide the Management with periodic, accurate, and timely financial information to facilitate determination of the company’s liquidity status and financial position at any given time.

Reporting Structure

The Accountant is accountable to the Chief financial officer.

Key Responsibilities

The Key Responsibility of the Accountant will be: –

➢ Required to ensure adherence to Financial Polices accounting system processes.

➢ Required to ensure that all statutory obligations and Taxes are paid on time.

➢ Required to ensure that financial information to FMC Finance system is accurate & processed on time.

➢ Reviewing reconciliation of various financial and accounting transactions on a monthly basis.

➢ Required to ensure that all journal vouchers are prepared, checked, authorized and posted to the Accounting system on time.

➢ Preparing ledger reconciliation for debtors, creditors and expenditure on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

➢ Preparation of accurate Trial balance on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

➢ Responsible for the preparation of Financial Statements from Trial balance to Balance sheet level.

➢ Required to be prepared for external Audits and providing auditors with accounting documents as requested and providing explanations for audit queries.

➢ Responsible for maintaining and updating the fixed assets register at all times.

➢ Liaising with the Operational Manager in the reconciliation of Customer’s statements and ensuring that the loan book is accurate at all times.

➢ Responsible for the Preparation of the Bank reconciliation on a monthly basis.

➢ Responsible for ensuring that full documentation of the payments before payments are made.

➢ Responsible for the maintenance & recording petty cash.

➢ Responsible for the Maintenance of the company’s payroll.

QUALIFICATIONS

➢ A minimum of 2 years of experience in similar position

➢ Grade Twelve Certificate with six credits or better, English and Mathematics a must;

➢ CA Application Advanced Diploma in Accountancy, ZICA, Degree in Accountancy

➢ Licentiate, ACCA Level 2, CIMA Level 2.

➢ Must be a member of ZICA

SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES

➢ One should possess good understanding of all accounting systems and procedures with excellence customer service skills.

➢ Computer literate and ability to use accounting packages.

➢ Integrity and honesty;

➢ Trainable

➢ Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and achieve deadline on time
