Job Description

Hollard Life Assurance Zambia is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic Finance & Administration team.

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Head – Finance & Administration, the Accountant will assist in the efficient management of Finance and Administration operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Post all transactions into the accounting system and manage daily receipting and banking.
Process and prepare payments to suppliers and for claims.
Monitor bank account balances and ensure sufficient liquidity.
Perform monthly bank reconciliations, journals, and expense variance commentary.
Manage debtors, maintain the fixed asset register, and process payroll.
Ensure timely statutory payments (ZRA, NAPSA, PIA, etc.).
Prepare investment income accounts and reconcile reinsurance payables.
Coordinate annual audits and actuarial valuations.
Support procurement, office maintenance, and license renewals.

Required Qualifications

Part-qualified CIMA/ACCA or Degree in Accounting.
Grade 12 Certificate with at least 5 O’ Levels including English and Mathematics.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an accounting role.

Knowledge and Skills

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and Microsoft Office applications.
Understanding of basic insurance principles is an added advantage.
Excellent communication, analytical, and report writing skills.
Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with attention to detail.
