1.ROLE IDENTIFICATION
JOB TITLE: ACCOUNTANT
DIRECT REPORTS TO:
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
2. JOB PURPOSE
Magnum Security Company is seeking a qualified and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the company’s financial operations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, compliance with statutory regulations, timely reporting, and effective financial management to support the company’s operational goals.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and update accurate financial records in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Zambian statutory requirements.

Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Process payroll and ensure compliance with statutory obligations, including PAYE, NAPSA, NHIMA, and Workers’ Compensation.

Manage invoicing, receipting, and debt collections from clients.

Oversee accounts payable and receivable, and ensure timely payments and collections.

Reconcile bank accounts, petty cash, and other company accounts regularly.

Prepare and submit tax returns to ZRA (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax) accurately and on time.

Support the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors.

Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the company.

Ensure proper financial controls, documentation, and adherence to company policies.

Work closely with operations to align financial practices with the company’s service delivery.

5. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum

Grade 12 certificate with minimum of 5 ‘O’ credits or better in Mathematics or English

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional qualification (ZICA, ACCA, CIMA) – Full or part-qualified.
6.EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the security services or related sector.
