Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is the largest Technical Education and Vocational Training (TEVET) Institutions under the Ministry of Technology and Science (MOTS). As part of its process to provide quality service to its stakeholders, the institution is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons to fill the following positions:

1.0 FINANCE DEPARTMENT

1.3 ACCOUNTANT-MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING

Job Purpose

To assist in providing timely and accurate accounting information to the Institution in order to support decision making with regard to cost control, forecasting and planning.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists in the annual financial budgets and forecasts.
• Assists in maintaining departmental budgets
• Advises accountants and budget holders of emerging cost pressures, and liaising with budget holders to identify reasons for variances;
• Prepares draft departmental budgets on an annual basis in the department in order to ensure effective and efficient operations.
• Prepare month end reports to draft stage, including forecasts and monitoring statements, to be discussed with, approved and finalized by the Finance Manager
• Completes balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist in updating ledgers

Minimum Qualifications

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy/CIMA/ACCA and/or equivalent
• At least 5 years working experience in a supervisory position
• Analytical and report writing skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Computer Literacy in accounting packages
• People Management Skills
