EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY –
ACCOUNTANT

The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, Teaching Profession Act No. 5 of 2013. The mandate of the TCZ is to provide for the regulation of teachers, their practice and professional conduct. The institution has vacancies for (i) Accountant (TCZ 06), (ii) Assistant Accountant (TCZ 07) and is now inviting applications from suitably qualified Zambians to apply for the positions.

ACCOUNTANT (1 POSITION)

JOB PURPOSE

To undertake the provision of accounting services in order to facilitate the implementation of programs and ensure prudent utilization and accountability of public resources.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Reporting: Undertakes timely the preparation of financial reports in order to comply with financial regulations and facilitate decision-making
2. Internal Controls: Undertakes effectively the development and implementation of internal controls in order to enhance transparency and accountability in the utilization of financial and material resources.
3 . Cost Accounting: Undertakes timely costing of programs in order to facilitate preparation of annual budget estimates, mobilization and disbursement of financial resources.
4. Investments: Undertakes effectively the investment of excess funds in order to generate revenue.
5. Cash Flow Management: Undertakes effectively the cash flow projections in order to ensure availability of funds for operations.
6. Payments: Undertakes effectively the processing of payments in order to meet Institutional obligations.
7. Audit Query Responses: Undertakes timely the preparations of responses In order to resolve audit queries and ensure unqualified accounts.
8. Asset Accounting: Undertakes effectively accounting for assets in order to safeguard public property.
9. Payroll: Undertakes effectively payroll computations in order to facilitate the payment of personnel related obligations.
10. Revenue: Undertakes effectively the receipt and accounting for institutional revenue in order to facilitate accountability.
11. Supervision: Supervises effectively human and other resources in order to facilitate the attainment of set objectives.
12. Performance Management: Supervises effectively the development of work plans and the implementation of the performance management system in order to monitor, evaluate and enhance performance.
