Job Description
Top Southern Africa Transport Limited, a reputable logistics company based in Chambishi in the Copperbelt Province of Zambia, is seeking to recruit a dynamic and suitably qualified person to fill the position of an Accounts Assistant. The purpose of the job is to provide administrative and accounting support to the Accountant for day to day transactions such as payables and receivables.
The Accounts Assistant will be required to undertake the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:

Perform basic bookkeeping and banking transactions,

Ensuring payments, amounts and records are correct.

Working with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.

Recording and filing cash transactions.
-
Controlling credit and chasing debt.
-
Invoice processing and filing.
-
Bank reconciliation.
-
Updating and maintaining procedural documentation.
-
Managing payment voucher system
-
Assist in reconciliation of direct debits and finance accounts.

Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded

Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines

Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned

Assisting in update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed

Raising and accounting for payment voucher orders using the Inter-Africa /Korridor online platform.

Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies etc.

Must be conversant with Microsoft products.

Experience in using Pastel accounting package preferably will be an added advantage.

Lead time of posting source documents (invoices, debit notes) in the accounting software.
Basic Requirements

Grade 12 School Certificate.

A minimum ZICA Diploma, Advanced Diploma ACCA/CIMA
-
Part qualified ACCA/CIMA.
-
At least two (2) years post qualifying experience.

Must possess a comprehensive understanding of accounting techniques, control methods, and procedures.
