Quality Commodities Limited and Neelkanth Fresh Foods Limited are a part of VAMARA Group-Zambia. We are looking for outstanding resources with experience in accounting and finance who are able to provide decisive analytical expertise and timely information for strategic business decisions.
ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT *2 (LUSAKA)
This role reports directly to the Head of Finance. The ideal candidate is responsible for providing appropriate financial information and undertaking general related accounting duties.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (KPAs)
• Preparation, payment and submission of all statutory obligations.
· Processing of all customer & cash sales invoices and ensuring that they are entered into the accounting system.
· Post petty cash payments and closing journals into the accounting system.
• Reconciliation of all customer & Supplier ledgers and bank accounts and ensure all necessary corrections as instructed are posted into the accounting system.
• Processing of payroll.
• Raise Purchase orders where needed.
• Raise cheque payments as required or instructed.
• Assist in conducting monthly stock counts.
• Preparing and maintenance of debtors register and follow up with customers.
• Keep stock of Stationery purchase, issuance and ordering.
• Support other business units by providing other adhoc reports.
• Assist the team in keeping accounting files and documents in archives duly indexed with box/file control.
• Collect and provide sales data from depots by comparing with daily cash sales.
• Verifying, allocating and posting cost related transactions to the appropriate cost centres.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• A minimum of 2 years’ work experience preferably in a manufacturing industry.
• Sound business acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship management, organising, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Must have strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles.
• Ability to analyse and evaluate financial information.
• Able to work under pressure.
• Ability to provide accurate information within deadlines.
• Computer literacy essential (Microsoft Office).
• Knowledge of Sage/Pastel Accounting System.
• Proficiency in Excel.
QUALIFICATION
• Five O’ Levels with credits (or better) in English and Mathematics.
• Diploma in Accounts/Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or any commercial field will be an added advantage.
