Job description:
Specific Job Responsibility
-
To issue sales invoices in Pronto
-
To chase customers for outstanding receivables, ensuring payments are received within the contractual credit period.

To capture staff and supplier back-charge invoices
-
To run monthly recoveries on staff and supplier debtors accounts
-
To perform regular reviews of aged debtor balances to identify those falling outside contractual credit terms and follow up as appropriate
-
Perform sub-ledger and balance sheet reconciliations for receivable accounts
-
Develop models for efficient data capture, analysis and reporting
-
Ensure proper filing of documents in accordance with company policy and statutory requirements for all sales and receivables transactions
-
Retrieve documents for internal and external auditors, and other reviewers
-
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Experience required to perform in this job
The
Accounts Receivable Officer
will require knowledge, skills and experience in the following
areas:

Analytical skills and working with huge volumes of data
-
Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
-
Good understanding of international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
-
Ability to operate office equipment (e.g. PCs, printers, copiers etc.)
-
Good command of the English Language (speaking and writing)
-
Interpersonal skills
-
Knowledge of relevant Zambian laws and regulations (e.g. Companies’ Act, Tax laws etc.)
Qualifications
-
Degree in Accounting or full professional accountancy qualification (e.g. CA Zambia, ACCA, ZICA etc.)
-
Minimum Licentiate Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
