Start date: Candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) of receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.
This position is a Chauffeur Administrative Clerk role that involves extensive driving to fulfil the duties of the position.
Serves as a Driver/Admin Assistant for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) office at the Provincial Health Office. Incumbent operates official vehicles in a professional and skilled manner to transport CDC employees, other USG employees and visitors that may include high-level VIPs, from CDC Zambia or other U.S. Government departments and agencies to various offices and field sites within and outside Lusaka Province. Job holder supports the Lusaka Provincial Health Office CDC staff and on occasional basis assists the CDC main Office. Position is based in the Management and Operations section of CDC Zambia and reports to the CDC Facilities Manager
JOB KNOWLEDGE: Incumbent must have complete knowledge of the Zambia driving laws and regulations, must be conversant of the traffic patterns in the big cities and rural environment. Must be computer literate with strength in Microsoft office and ability to navigate through computer system set-up. Must have basic first aid knowledge and use of fire extinguishers.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Excellent driving skills and the ability to organize travel routes effectively. Basic understanding of the care and maintenance of
vehicles with ability to perform minor services e.g. Tyre changing.

The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service. Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.
** This level of preference applies to all Foreign Service employees on LWOP and CS with re-employment rights back to their agency or bureau.
