Job description:

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ambulance Driver to join our Health and Wellness services team. As an Ambulance Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting patients to medical facilities and surrounding areas around Zambia.

Key Responsibilities:

– Safely operate our transport vehicles adhering to traffic laws and regulations
– Transport patients to medical facilities, ensuring their comfort and safety
– Communicate effectively with Patient Logistics Team ensuring smooth transfers of patients at all times
– Maintain accurate records and reports when required
– Clean and maintain all transport vehicles ensuring pre-start checks at all times

Requirements:

– Valid manual transmission driver’s license and clean driving record
– Ability to lift and transfer patients
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work in high-stress environments
– Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

Physical Demands:

– Ability to lift and transfer patients
– Prolonged sitting and driving
– Exposure to emergency and traumatic situations

Working Conditions:

– Variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays

– Standby work required

– Overtime when necessary

– Exposure to dust, heat and noise

– PC Literacy

– An understanding of the cultural and political environment

– An understand of the relevant legislation, policies and procedures

Qualifications :

– Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent

– Defensive Driving Certificate

– First Aid Certificate is an added advantage

Experience:

– Minimum 5-year experience in a similar role

– Ability to work with minimum supervision to achieve the established objectives
