ARTISAN MECHANIC – HO (1 POST)
GRADE: BoZU3

Job Purpose

Carryout maintenance of Bank fleet through repair works of cars, trucks, and other motor vehicles in order to contribute to the fulfilment of the Bank’s objectives.

Main Accountabilities

• Maintain vehicles, which may include cars, trucks, folk lifts and other motor vehicles.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups.
• Perform tests on specific parts and systems to ensure proper functioning.
• Identify mechanical problems visually or with computer aided diagnostic equipment.
• Examine critical parts and systems using standard checklist.
• Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, filters, and other mechanical parts.
• Devise a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades.
• Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records.
• Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
• Visit authorised motor repair centres to inspect outsourced vehicles repair works.
• Test drive vehicles routinely to confirm to operational safety before/after special operations.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) ‘O’ Levels (credit or better).
• Certificate in Motor vehicle repairs or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of relevant experience from reputable motor repair centres.

Key Knowledge and Attributes

• Commercial driver’s license is required.
• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
• Excellent mechanical repair skills
• Excellent analytical and with an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Ability to read service and repair manuals.
• Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
