EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT – EXPENDITURE

The Council of the Zambia Institute of Advanced Legal Education (ZIALE) is looking for a suitably qualified, experienced and result oriented person to fill in the position of Assistant Accountant Expenditure.

JOB PURPOSE

To supervise and undertake the processing of payments and maintenance of financial records in order to meet financial obligations and ensure accountability of public funds.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervises and undertakes timely the collection and analysis of financial data in order to facilitate preparation of books of accounts;
• Supervises and undertakes timely, the processing of payment documentation in order to meet financial obligations;
• Undertakes reconciliations in order to ensure completeness and accuracy of accounting records;
• Supervises and undertakes timely and accurately, the compilation of financial records in order to facilitate preparation financial reports and financial statements;
• Supervises and undertakes effectively preparation of information in order to facilitate responses to audit queries;
• Supervises and undertakes effectively imprest management in order to facilitate accountability for public funds;
• Undertakes timely development of individual work plans in order to monitor and evaluate individual performance; and
• Supervises effectively the utilisation of human, and other resources in order to ensure achievement of set objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Full form V or Grade 12 Certificate
• Part II ACCA/CIMA/CA Zambia/Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy
• Licentiate Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountant (ZICA)
• Two (2) years’ experience
