The Human Rights Commission is a National Human Rights Institution established under Article 230 (i) of the Constitution of Zambia with a broad mandate of ensuring that the Bill of Rights is upheld and protected. The Commission is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified individual to fill the following position Assistant Accountant Salary Grade: HRC/E
QUALIFICATIONS
a) Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 ‘O’ Level Credits or better, including English and Mathematics
(c) Must have a Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent
(d) Must have 2 years’ experience in accounting
(e) Must be an active member of ZICA
(e) Must be atleast 23 years
DUTIES
The successful candidate will report to the Accountant- HRC and will be responsible for:
(a) Carrying out efficiently and diligently the maintenance of books of accounts relating to receipts and expenditure payments in order to ensure proper accountability of public funds
(b) Undertaking and preparing the issuance of staff loans, advances and imprest to ensure compliance with the provisions in the Conditions of Service, regulations and circulars issued from time to time
(c) Effecting timely payment of salaries to Commissioners and members of staff of the Commission to meet contractual obligations
(d) Carrying out timely Bank Reconciliations to ensure proper accountability of public funds
(e) Undertaking effectively and diligently, the collections, accounting and timely banking of revenues to ensure that sufficient resources are available for budget
