ACCOUNTANT
The Teaching Council of Zambia (TCZ) is a statutory body established by an Act of Parliament, Teaching Profession Act No. 5 of 2013. The mandate of the TCZ is to provide for the regulation of teachers, their practice and professional conduct. The institution has vacancies for (i) Accountant (TCZ 06), (ii) Assistant Accountant (TCZ 07) and is now inviting applications from suitably qualified Zambians to apply for the positions.
ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (1 POSITION)
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the maintenance of financial records in order to facilitate preparation of financial statements.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.
Ledgers:
Undertakes effectively the maintenance of ledgers and other financial records in order to facilitate preparation of financial reports.
2.
Payments:
Undertakes timely review of documents in the financial management system in order to facilitate payment processing.
3.
Accountable Documents:
Undertakes effectively the safe custody of accountable documents in order to ensure their security.
4.
Asset Verification:
Undertakes periodically the verification of assets in order to facilitate asset accounting.
5.
Imprest and Recoveries Report:
Undertakes effectively preparation of imp rest and recovery reports in order to mitigate losses of public resources and facilitate decision making.
6.
Reconciliations:
Undertakes effectively the preparation of reconciliations in order to ensure accurate reporting.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
i. Applicants must be aged between 25-45years:
ii. Full Form V/Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate;
iii. Diploma in Accounting or its equivalent:
iv. Three (3) years minimum experience.
v. Registered member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) with a valid practicing license.
