The Company now invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons who are innovative, energetic, and performance-driven to fill the position of a Temporary Assistant Accountant.
Job Summary:
The position of the Assistant Accountant is a critical position with responsibilities that include supporting the management team in a variety of operational decisions. The job holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the accounts department
Duties and Responsibilities

Assists in the preparation of accurate and timely weekly, monthly and quarterly management reports.

Ensures that all the accounts inputs and outputs documents have been properly approved and processed on a timely basis.

Assists to ensures that all the financial reports comply with systems and standards both statutory and internal requirements to facilitate an effective and efficient decision-making process.

Assists in preparing on a timely basis the annual budgets and quarterly forecasts for decision support.

Assists in the preparation of costs and profitability information in line with internal customer’s requirements to facilitate efficient and accurate decisions support.

Assists in the provision of accurate information on categorizing to facilitate profit and breakeven analysis for decision making.

Assists in the preparation and co-ordinates the production of forecasts in line with the existing performance evaluation system.

Responsible for the timeous and accurate computation of the Value Added Tax returns and payments thereof.

Assists in the production of Statutory returns and liaison with auditors to facilitate compliance and timeous completion of audit assignments.

Management of transaction costs and ensures an efficient delivery of services to both internal and external customers.

Prepares and ensure accurate and timeous updates of fixed assets register movements, computations of depreciation, acquisitions, disposals; write offs and ensures that all the necessary approvals have been done accordingly.

Prepares the payroll and retains the payroll inputs. Submits the prepared payroll for review and approval to the Supervisor (Chief Financial Officer)

Ensures that the payroll is properly filed, and payroll output reports are retained.

Assists in handling of the additions of employees to the payroll for those who are employed and removes from payroll those employees who leave the Company. Retains the input for any such transactions.

Ensures that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational.
Daily reviews the cash and bank balances and notifies the supervisor.

Assist in the ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company

Assists in the determination of product/service pricing in relation to services offered and competitor pricing;
Preparation of schedules as requested
Requirements (Education and experience)

Full Grade 12 Certificate
-
ZICA Level II /Diploma in Accountancy
-
ACCA/CIMA qualification
-
Must be a member of ZICA (affiliated)

Must have at least two years’ experience
Key knowledge, attributes, skills and abilities
-
Good Knowledge of Accounting Standards and Principles

Proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Navision and in the use of email and the internet.

Ability to interpret Accounting policies.
Physical Environmental Risk exposure
Mostly works under normal office conditions.
