MAIN DUTIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Develops and implements comprehensive data governance frameworks, policies, and standards to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
2. Oversees data management strategies to meet evolving business needs and drive informed decision-making.
3. Ensures data integrity, security, and privacy across all data systems, applications, and processes.
4. Provides leadership, expertise, and guidance in data governance and data quality best practices to stakeholders.
5. Develops, manages, and maintains data standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
6. Conducts regular data quality audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
7. Collaborates with stakeholders to identify, assess, and mitigate data management risks.
8. Ensures compliance with data protection and privacy regulations, laws, and industry standards.
9. Facilitates data governance meetings, serves as a central point of contact, and coordinates stakeholder engagement.
10. Provides strategic direction, leadership, and vision for the data management function.
11. Providing leadership and strategic direction for the function, ranging from planning and budgeting to motivational and promotional activities expounding the value of data governance and data quality.
12. Leads change management initiatives to promote data governance, quality, and literacy across the organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Grade Twelve School Certificate/General Certificate of Education Equivalent with five (5) Credits or better;
2. Bachelor’s Degree in a field such as Data Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Physics or related field.
3. A Master’s degree will be an added advantage; and
4. Minimum Five (5) years’ relevant post qualifying experience, out of which, three (3) must be in a leadership/manager position in an organisation with mature data analytics capabilities.
