The Assistant Manager in Wealth Management Operations plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless processing and administration of an array of Wealth Management products, including Bonds, Treasury Bills, Mutual Funds, and Bancassurance. This role requires meticulous adherence to organisational policies, internal processes, and external regulatory standards to uphold the integrity and compliance of operations.
As a key team member, you will contribute to operational excellence through consistent execution of procedures that safeguard client interests and the bank’s reputation. Your responsibilities include oversight of transaction processing, timely delivery of client communications, and the co-ordination with stakeholders to facilitate efficient workflow within Wealth Management Operations.
Success in this role demands a comprehensive understanding of financial product lifecycles and regulatory environments, combined with strong organisational and interpersonal skills to engage effectively across multiple teams. Strategy and Governance
• Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of financial regulations, compliance obligations, and internal controls that impact Wealth Management Operations to mitigate risk and ensure all activities are conducted within legal and regulatory frameworks.
• Support the continuous enhancement of operational policies and procedures aimed at improving efficiency and compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement and Communication
• Proactively manage relationships with business stakeholders through regular meetings and clear communication channels to address queries, disseminate performance reports, and incorporate feedback for service improvement.
• Liaise with external partners and regulatory bodies to facilitate smooth operations and timely submissions.
Operational Excellence and Process Management
• Oversee end-to-end processing of client applications, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to prescribed workflows and control measures.
• Monitor outsourced service providers, primarily the Global Business Services (GBS) team, to verify compliance with agreed service levels and quality standards.
• Manage the processing of Client bids for treasury bills and government bonds through the Investor Portal and CSD system, including essential tasks such as fund blocking, debiting client accounts, and coordinating match advices related to Central Bank accounts.
• Ensure the preparation and timely submission of all regulatory returns, levies, fees, and taxes in strict compliance with statutory deadlines.
• Supervise the dispatch of client communications, including contract notes, portfolio statements, corporate action notifications, and investment profiles, maintaining data protection principles and rectifying any delivery failures promptly.
• Maintain organised archival of documentation in line with established retention policies and organisational standards.
This role mandates a detail-oriented approach, a proactive attitude toward problem-solving, and the ability to balance operational priorities with regulatory compliance to support the bank’s commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.
The role requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting, Word for documentation, and Outlook for communication.
Ideal candidates will bring a robust understanding of banking operations, especially within wealth management contexts. Experience handling portfolios involving Bonds, Treasury Bills, Mutual Funds, and Bancassurance is highly advantageous.
Key interpersonal skills include effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment. A problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and capacity to manage multiple priorities in a timely and accurate manner is essential.
Technical competencies encompass familiarity with banking systems, account reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. Candidates who demonstrate an ability to adapt quickly to evolving compliance requirements and operational challenges will excel in this position.
