Job Purpose
The Treasury Back Office Officer will provide operational support to the Team Leader and Manager Treasury Operations, focusing on transaction execution and operational risk management within the Treasury back-office. Assist in managing day-to-day treasury operations, ensuring timely and accurate trade settlements in RTGS, CSD, and SWIFT, cash management, and compliance with relevant regulations. The position involves managing exception item reconciliations, executing deal confirmations with precision, maintaining comprehensive documentation for audit and compliance, and overseeing timely regulatory reporting in alignment with statutory and internal requirements. Act as the primary point of contact for routine treasury processes and activities.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure completeness and correctness of trade bookings in the Trading and Treasury systems,
- Process and confirm trades related to FX, Money Markets, Government Securities, and Term Deposits.
- Ensure Exchange rates are updated within 15 minutes of receipt from Treasury Front Office.
- Ensure correct and timely settlement of the Treasury (securities, fixed income, derivatives) and Investment (Loans) transactions,
- Monitor and manage daily cash flow, ensuring that funds are available for operational requirements and investment opportunities.
- Act as a key contributor in the implementation of various Treasury systems and instruments,
- Perform daily cash and securities reconciliations,
- Control the correctness of daily SWIFT traffic (Sent and Received),
- Process ZRA ETAX Sweep payments by 10am daily. Prepare EFT 2 forms for ZRA by 10am daily.
- Monitor the correctness and completeness of work performed by the outsourced middle and back office service providers
- Prepare and submit the Placements and Foreign Exposure returns daily to stakeholders by 9am daily.
- Submit the Daily Foreign Exchange returns by 09am daily.
- Execute corporate payments of the Bank (Vendors and Staff) and ensure sanction screening for these payments,
- Act as focal point for internal and external audit queries and provide required reports, data and information,
- Process monthly invoices for outsourced services,
- Ensure proper administration of the paid-in capital of the Bank,
- Reconcile cash and securities transactions daily to ensure that records are accurate and aligned with internal and external systems (e.g., Flexicube, Montran CSD, RTGS).
- Contribute proactively to the improvement of the effectiveness and efficiency of the Treasury function by leveraging technology, driving automation, and defining best-in-class processes and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience
- Full Grade 12 certificate with 5 O’ level credits
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Must have a minimum of 4 years work experience treasury back-office operations with a Commercial Bank
- Must have a strong understanding of treasury products, financial markets, and instruments (e.g., FX, money markets, government bonds).
- Familiarity with securities markets and derivatives is essential to ensure accurate transaction handling and risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems (e.g., Oracle Flexicube, Montran CSD/RTGS).
- Should have Local and International Market Knowledge
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams is mandatory.
- Must be mature, approachable, and effective in engaging with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operational execution and issue resolution.
- ACI Operations Certificate qualification will be an added advantage
