KaloFamily Community Medical Centre is a private health facility established in 2020, providing quality and affordable healthcare services to both insured (scheme) and uninsured clients within Chimwemwe and the surrounding areas. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Biomedical Scientist and Accountant to join our team on this exciting journey of making a difference in our community.
1. BIOMEDICAL SCIENTIST
Job Type: Contract
Salary: Competitive
Location: Chimwemwe, Kitwe
JOB PURPOSE
To provide high-quality laboratory services through accurate and timely testing of patient samples, supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases within the clinic.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests, including hematology, microbiology, biochemistry, and serology.
Collect, process, and analyze biological samples such as blood, urine, stool, and tissue.
Ensure quality control and calibration of laboratory equipment.
Maintain proper documentation and accurate records of all laboratory procedures and results.
Collaborate with clinicians to interpret and communicate laboratory findings effectively.
Implement and adhere to infection prevention and control measures.
Ensure safe disposal of bio-hazardous waste according to clinic and national health regulations.
Participate in external quality assurance programs and proficiency testing.
Maintain adequate inventory of reagents, consumables, and laboratory supplies.
Train and supervise laboratory assistants or interns when required.
Adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines and Zambia Medical Laboratory regulatory standards.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences or Medical Laboratory Sciences from a recognized institution.
Must be registered with the Health Professions Council of Zambia (HPCZ) and hold a valid practicing license.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
Qualifications must be verified and validated by ZAQA.
Knowledge of laboratory safety standards and quality management systems.
Familiarity with basic IT and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is an added advantage.

2. ACCOUNTANT
Job Type: Contract
Salary: Competitive
Location: Chimwemwe, Kitwe
JOB PURPOSE
To ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, effective management of funds, compliance with Zambian financial regulations, and support in decision-making by providing reliable financial information.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports.
Ensure compliance with Zambian tax laws, ZRA requirements, and other statutory obligations (e.g. NAPSA, PAYE).
Process payments, manage petty cash, and monitor cash flow.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Maintain proper records of assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
Support in budget preparation and monitoring expenditures.
Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of transactions.
Manage payroll processing and ensure timely payment of staff salaries.
Assist with internal and external audits.
Ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal financial policies.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification such as ZICA and ACCA is an added advantage.
A minimum of 2–3 years of work experience is required, and prior experience in a healthcare setting will be an added advantage.
Must to a full registered member of ZICA.
Qualifications must be verified and validated by ZAQA.
Knowledge of Zambian tax laws and statutory requirements.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. Sage, Pastel, QuickBooks).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
