We are therefore inviting applications to fill the following vacant position

POSITION: BOILER OPERATOR

CONTRACT: PERMANENT

LOCATION: KITWE

Reporting to the Brewing and Utilities Controller, the successful candidate will be accountable for the following: –

Making sure that there are enough water treatment chemicals in the dosing vessel and the salt vessel, and monitor the performance of the water treatment plant.
Removing boiler ashes at intervals when coal is completely spent.
Making sure that during boiler start up, the water level is high.
Making sure that there is sufficient water in the hot well once the boiler is running, for support.
Carrying out maintenance procedures as required by his supervisor.
Liaising with the Production Department concerning steam demands.
Ensuring that Operational areas are kept clean and in order at all times
Ensuring that the Boiler is operating within its safety parameters.

The job is particularly suitable for candidates who meet the following minimum requirements and possess the following attributes.

Grade 12 certificate.
A Boiler Operation certificate.
A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in the related field.
Able to communicate well, oral and written.
Problem solving skills and able to detect and react to problems promptly.
A Team player.
