Bedford Microfinance Limited is a fast-growing financial institution located in Lusaka and Ndola. The company provides a range of financial services including salary advance loans, short term loans, invoice discounting, corporate loans, collateral loans, and business loans to individuals and entrepreneurs.

1. Branch Leader Ndola Branch (1 position)

Role Description

As Branch Leader,  will take full responsibility of the operational, financial, and administrative performance of the BML branch. You will be responsible for driving branch growth, leading a diverse team, managing risk, ensuring high-quality service delivery, and upholding regulatory and internal compliance standards.

This role requires a strong leader with sound financial acumen, exceptional people management skills, and a deep understanding of the microfinance sector.

Qualifications

Leadership & Branch Management

Oversee and coordinate all daily operations of the branch.
Lead and supervise a team.
Build a positive, performance-driven branch culture aligned with company values.
Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and on-the-job training.
Business Development & Portfolio Growth

Develop and execute local branch strategies to meet and exceed loan disbursement and recovery targets.
Actively promote company products and services within the community through outreach and relationship-building.
Identify market trends and growth opportunities.
Ensure branch targets (loan volume, client outreach, recovery rate, portfolio at risk, etc.) are achieved and reported accurately.
Credit & Risk Management

Review and approve loan applications within assigned authority limits.
Monitor loan portfolio quality and implement proactive recovery measures.
Ensure adherence to credit policy, risk controls, and internal audit requirements.
Respond to client inquiries and resolve issues effectively and in a timely manner.
Compliance & Reporting

Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and data protection standards.
Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports on branch performance to the Head Office.
Maintain accurate financial and operational records.
Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certifications a plus).
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the financial services or microfinance sector.
Proven ability to manage branch operations, lending portfolios, and teams successfully.
Strong understanding of credit risk assessment, financial products, and community banking.
Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with loan management or core banking systems.
Ability to work independently and lead teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Loan disbursement and growth rate
Portfolio at risk (PAR) below acceptable threshold
Client retention and satisfaction rates
Staff productivity and performance
Compliance and audit ratings
