Description

JOB PURPOSE

The Role is responsible for Implementing the overall functions of the Financial Applications Support Systems Management in order to improve the Bank wide Customer Experience. Its Core Objective is to continuously improve the Financial Applications and capabilities through applying fixes and customization while offering high-level monitoring and support.

The responsibility assists in overseeing the enhancements on all the Financial Applications while ensuring high availability through close impact assessment of all the fixes and customizations applied to the systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Applications Support:

  • Implementing the Operative side of the Business Applications throughout the Bank network to ensure realization of the Bank’s strategy and goals
  • Proactively Manage Systems availability and Performance ensuring it stays above prescribed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Configurations Management and Operations Support of the Financial Applications such as Treasury Management platform (Calypso), Confirmation Matching System (Finastra), Cheque Truncation platform (Sybrin), EFT application platform (CDDM), International funds transfer Platforms (SWIFT and SIRESS), Customer payments platforms (Payflexi/SFI, RTGS), local clearing platforms (Montran and ACH) and Compliance system platform (Sanction/transaction Screening), throughout the Bank network to ensure the realization of the Bank’s strategy and goals.
  • Implementation of Financial Applications Systems Business Continuity and Information Technology Disaster Recovery
  • Implementation of Audit (Internal and External) findings relating to Financial Applications
  • Highlight any Service Level Agreement breach to the supervisor
  • Investigate and resolve Incidents and Problems logged through first-line Support.
  • Provide Technical support and a clear understanding of the landscape on All Financial Applications ensuring Customer Satisfaction for all Stakeholders is met.
  • High-level understanding of the Core banking system and modules within the core-banking system that relates to the Business applications.
  • Work directly with Customers and End Users at all levels on escalated issues in order to manage the Customer expectations and resolve all raised queries within the agreed Service Level Agreements
  • Ensure attendance of Monthly Business Information Technology meetings to provide updates on issues raised by the Business.
  • Verify all Software Installations, Upgrades, Patches/Fixes, and Maintenances on all Financial Applications as per Change Approval Policy
  • Conduct End User Training on all Financial Applications
  • Document all processes and update regularly all changes to the documentation for all the Financial Applications.
  • Ensure Backup Procedures, Processes and Checklists for Financial Applications are in place at all times.
  • Engagement with the End Users and Project Management Team on the improvement of existing Information Technology Products and/or Development of new Products.
  • Ensure that all the Financial Applications are available and work reliably and securely.
  • Checking that tests are conducted thoroughly by the specialists by ensuring that the impact analysis is done
  • Ensure Management of both Onsite and External Support Partners.
  • Any other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor
  • Support for strategic projects
  • Agree targets, monitor Performance and Performance Reviews for each specialist member as per stipulated guidelines.
  • Ensure quarterly 1-1 sessions are held with specialist member.
  • Coaching and development of specialists, building their skills and competencies to manage and maximize their effectiveness and performance
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and complete reporting of risk events within the stipulated time line (i.e. 7 calendar days) to their functions.
  • Identify and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) around the core Banking application.
  • Ensure to operate within the given risk appetites and report any breaches promptly.
  • Implement and Close all Audit recommendations.
  • Identify control weaknesses from Risk and Control Self- Assessment (RCSAs), Consultancy Reports or Customer Complaints and Risk events.
  • Participate in the annual review of Procedure Manuals when requested
Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in information technology / software engineering, Computer Science

Professional: As required by Function

Minimum Experience: 5 years working experience in IT Project Management, XML, Web Services, CSS, JavaScript, MS SQL, MySQL and PL/SQL

Certifications Required: ITIL, COBIT 5
