Are you a postgraduate student or researcher working on an immunology or cellular biology-related project? Do you want to build your immunology knowledge and practical experience in immunology-based laboratory techniques? The Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) in collaboration with the Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) are inviting applications from motivated MSc, PhD and Post-doctoral level students and researchers to participate in an immunology focused didactic and practical training course, scheduled as part of an upcoming Residential Research School Program. This short course will be held from 11th to 22nd August 2025 and will provide in-depth lectures on fundamentals of immunology from diverse experts in the field and hands-on experience in ELISA, ELISpot and Flow Cytometry laboratory techniques.

The training will be hosted at CIDRZ research facilities in Lusaka, Zambia. A limited number of scholarships will be available for the course for selected participants.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

• Be currently enrolled in a postgraduate (MSc or PhD) research program.
• Applicants who have completed their MSc or PhD program in immunology or cell biology and are employed and working under an immunology-based project in their current institution will also be considered.
• Demonstrate basic or intermediate knowledge of immunology and have hands-on laboratory experience.
• Submit a summary (max 250 words) of their current immunology research project, clearly stating:
  a)    The project’s title and research question.
  b)    The stage of the project.
  c)     When and how they plan to apply immunology laboratory techniques in the project work.
• Show that the training will directly support ongoing or imminent laboratory work in their institution or research project.
• Commit to their availability for the entire duration of the course

Selection Criteria

Priority will be given to postgraduate students or researchers:

• With basic to intermediate knowledge of immunology and laboratory work experience
• Actively using or preparing to use ELISA, ELISpot or Flow Cytometry techniques in their current student projects or research work.
• Whose participation will enhance their immediate lab-based immunology research capabilities.
• Demonstrating strong alignment between the course content and their academic/research objectives.
