CARGO MANAGER VACANCY
Start Date
: 1st October,2025.
Role Purpose
: Proflight Zambia seeks to recruit a Cargo Manager. An Airline Cargo Manager oversees and directs all activities related to the handling, transportation, and delivery of air cargo. This includes managing operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, developing strategies to maximize revenue, and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
1. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operational Management
: Overseeing daily cargo operations both domestic and international, including import/export processing and special cargo handling (dangerous goods, live animals, etc.)

Compliance & Safety
: Ensuring adherence to all relevant regulations, including IATA, customs, and security requirements

Budget Management
: Managing the cargo budget, monitoring spending, and identifying cost-saving opportunities
-
Relationship Management
: Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, cargo handlers and other stakeholders
-
Performance Management
: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions

Strategic Planning
: Developing and implementing strategies to maximize revenue, market share, and operational efficiency

Cargo Handling
: Ensuring proper handling, storage, and loading of cargo, including special handling requirements
-
Customer Service
: Addressing customer inquiries, resolving complaints, and providing solutions to logistical challenges

Documentation
: Ensuring accurate and timely completion of all necessary shipping and customs documentation
-
Team Leadership
: Leading and developing the cargo team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment

4. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Full grade twelve certificate or equivalent
-
Advanced Diploma in Transport and Logistics or any related field [Degree will be added advantage]

Must be familiar with IATA and Civil Aviation regulations and Cargo handling requirements

Valid Dangerous good training
-
Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
-
Previous Cargo handling experience in an airline will be added advantage
