We are looking for a Chief Financial Officer who will be accountable for building a top-notch finance and accounting team, ensuring revenues and expenses stay in balance, overseeing financial planning and analysis, making recommendations on mergers and acquisitions, obtaining funding, working with department Heads to analyze financial data and craft budgets, attesting to the accuracy of reports and consulting with the Board of Directors and the CEO on strategy. The role holder will also ensure Financial Risk Management, Performance and growth of the company while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

This role will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer to carry out both strategic and operational functions.

Responsibilities

Financial Planning and Strategy:

  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support the LuSE’s growth objectives while maximizing shareholder value.
  • Drive the Annual Budgeting process and develop long-term financial forecasts.
  • Provide strategic financial insights and guidance to the CEO and executive team.
  • Assess and mitigate financial risks and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of Financial Statements, Regulatory filings, and Reports in Compliance with Securities Exchange Commission market regulations.
  • Coordinate with external Auditors and Regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and address any audit-related matters.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Providing strategic recommendations to the CEO and members of the executive management team.

Capital Management and Investor Relations:

  • Manage the LuSE’s Capital structure and oversee capital raising activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Shareholders, Analysts, and Investors.
  • Participate in Investor presentations, earnings calls, and roadshows.
  • Provide clear and transparent financial information to support Investor decision-making.

Financial Operations and Controls:

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including Cash flow management, Accounts payable/receivable, and LuSE’s investments.
  • Implement robust financial controls and processes to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Continuously improve Financial Systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Strategic partnerships and Mergers and Acquisitions:
  • Assess and evaluate potential strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and Mergers and Acquisitions opportunities.
  • Conduct financial due diligence and risk assessments on potential business ventures.

Subsidiary Support:

  • The role holder will be expected to interact closely with the subsidiary of the LuSE and provide additional support over its financial operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in the field.
  • A proven track record as a CFO or in a senior Finance leadership role.
  • In-depth knowledge of appropriate Market Regulations, Financial Reporting requirements, and Compliance Standards.
  • Strong Financial Analysis, Forecasting, and Budgeting skills.
  • Excellent understanding of capital markets, Investor Relations, and Corporate Finance.
  • Ability to provide strategic financial insights and collaborate effectively with executive leadership.
  • Experience in managing financial operations, including Cash flow, Treasury, and Risk Management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound financial decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) is a must.
