Job Purpose

The Chinese Translator will play a crucial role in facilitating effective communication and understanding between Chinese-speaking Managers and English-speaking teams in the Company and beyond. This position fosters team collaboration by bridging language gaps, enabling seamless communication, and supporting company goals of inclusivity and global outreach. Keeping abreast of linguistic innovations, cultural nuances, and industry trends is vital for delivering high-quality translations. This role requires close collaboration with site managers and higher-level operations personnel to ensure seamless communication across all levels of the organization.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and timely translations (Mandarin to English and vice versa) for verbal and written communications between Chinese-speaking Manager and company employees, contractors, customers and government officials.
Assist managers and higher-level operations personnel with translation needs during meetings, site visits, and other interactions.
Translate technical documents, emails, reports, and other relevant materials as required.
Facilitate effective communication to ensure mutual understanding and collaboration between all parties.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience:

Holding Advanced Translation Certifications will be a plus
Proficiency in both Mandarin and English, with excellent verbal and written communication skills in both languages.
Previous experience in a translation role, preferably in Industrial manufacturing power plant or related industry.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Diplomacy practice, experience or training will be an added advantage
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in other Asian languages will be a plus
