Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our team for a major town development project in Zambia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil land infrastructure or land development, with a particular preference for individuals based in or from the Solwezi area. Experience in the mining sector will be considered a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the town development project in Zambia, ensuring all phases are completed on time and within budget.
• Collaborate with the Development Manager and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
• Assist with conducting site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.
• Develop and review plans, designs, and specifications.
• Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory bodies to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and other external parties to ensure smooth project execution.
• Address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development or civil land infrastructure.
• Preference to candidates with professional registration with the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ) or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and standards.
• Preference to candidates with proven track record of successfully managing large-scale development projects.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in the mining industry.
• Familiarity with the Solwezi area.
• Resident of the Solwezi area.
