Chilanga Cement is looking to recruit dynamic, motivated, enthusiastic and qualified individuals to take up the following roles;

01. Position : Collections Accountant (x1)

Location/Department : Head Office, Finance

Reporting Line : Head of AR & Revenue

Overall Mission of the Role:

Responsible for the management and optimization of Chilanga Cement’s revenue collection process, by ensuring timely receipt of payments from clients, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves collaborating with clients and internal teams to resolve payment issues, reduce outstanding debts, and support the revenue recognition processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all received funds are allocated/Receipted in the customer’s account correctly.
  • Ensure all received funds are receipted timely
  • Notify and follow-up the bank for all funds not received after 24hrs for TTs and 4hrs for cash deposits
  • Ensure safe custody of all cash and receipts books.
  • Ensure daily and monthly un-receipted reports are circulated on time.
  • Responsible for dropping all receipts related reconciling items.
  • Assist in ensuring all bank accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and all action agreed for all reconciling items.
  • Set Monthly objectives and ensure the monthly assessments are done with the supervisor Propose a self-development plan.
  • Reconcile Depot cash handling
  • Work hand in hand with AR & Sales Team to ensure customers’ accounts are properly maintained
  • Assist AR in the process of reconciling of customers’ accounts
  • Any other tasks, projects and responsibilities as may be delegated from time to time by the Supervisor
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications, Experience and skills required:

  • Qualified professional accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) Must be an Affiliate member of ZICA
  • Minimum of: 2 years of experience of working in the Finance Department
