Reporting to the Condition Monitoring Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing and implementation of condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques, technologies, condition monitoring standards and interventions with the aim of improving asset performance.

Duties and responsibility for this position will include but not limited to the following:

  • Spend time in the field interacting with the processing and maintenance staff, ensuring the ongoing effectiveness of the condition monitoring program.
  • Provide input into the development/review of maintenance strategies in consultation with all stakeholders to ensure that preventive maintenance and other maintenance activities will safely deliver the desired equipment performance and to maximize equipment availability and reliability.
  • Provide input into the definition of equipment maintenance strategies.
  • Provide input into the review/update of preventive maintenance tasks and activities as part of ongoing continuous improvement ensuring all preventive maintenance and activities have clear purpose in assessing condition and preventing failures.
  • Implement condition monitoring and predictive maintenance techniques and interventions for rotating machines with a focus on vibration analysis, oil analysis, non-destructive testing, thickness survey, lubrication, thermography, and Pressure Vessels Inspection.
  • Investigate and implement new technologies with relation to condition monitoring practices.
  • Monitor equipment wear rates and use the data to optimize timing and scheduling of tasks.
  • Liaise with Maintenance Planners to ensure that all corrective work arising from Condition Monitoring inspections are planned in SAP and ready to be executed in a timely manner to avoid equipment failure.

To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have Grade 12 full School Certificate
  • Minimum Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Member of Engineering Institution of Zambia
  • Minimum of three (3) years practical experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in mining/minerals processing
  • Knowledge of Condition Monitoring techniques biased towards Vibration Analysis and Thermography.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance and Reliability Systems (ERP or CMMS, preferable experience with SAP)
  • Good understanding of Predictive Maintenance and Lubrication
  • Certification in predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis at least Level II, NDT Level II and above. Oil analysis, Thermography and Ultrasonic or Ultrasound certification will be an added advantage.
