Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and results-driven Civil Engineer to support and manage civil works projects, with a strong emphasis on quality, safety, and on-time delivery. The ideal candidate should possess solid technical expertise, sound judgment, and experience overseeing both planning and execution phases of engineering projects. Preference will be given to candidates with prior exposure to FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) construction environments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan, design, and manage the execution of civil works including roads, bridges, foundations, drainage, water and sewage systems, and industrial structures.

Conduct thorough site assessments, surveys, and environmental evaluations to inform project designs.

Prepare technical drawings, detailed project plans, cost estimates, work schedules, and tender documentation.

Ensure strict adherence to engineering standards, local building codes, environmental regulations, and health & safety protocols

Supervise construction teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure efficient project execution and resource management.

Track project milestones, manage schedules, and produce timely progress reports and technical documentation.

Conduct regular quality inspections and enforce specifications on materials and workmanship.

Coordinate with project stakeholders including clients, consultants, local authorities, and internal departments.

Utilize project management tools to monitor budgets, timelines, resource allocations, and contract deliverables.

Provide leadership, technical oversight, and mentorship to junior engineers and site personnel.

Carry out project close-out activities, including inspections, final reporting, and recommendations for future project improvements.
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering (BEng preferred).

Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in civil engineering, preferably with exposure to FMCG construction projects or industrial site developments.

Registered with a recognized engineering professional body (e.g., EIZ for Zambia).

Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).

Strong understanding of civil engineering standards, construction materials, and health & safety regulations.

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
