Africa Directions (AD) is an indigenous Zambian organization specifically focused on children and young people. By designing and implementing programs that support the children, youth, and young women in entrepreneurship, human rights, sexual and reproductive health rights through creation of awareness, advocacy and research, AD seeks to advance children and young people’s rights to deliver a just and sustainable world for all children and young people in Zambia and beyond.
Started in 2001, AD was founded with one mission: to serve children and young people. Over the years, the organization has gathered significant experience in social behavior change and overall youth development work, particularly working with children and young people. AD has previously implemented several important and beneficial programs in meaningful youth participation and inclusion in local governance, entrepreneurship, SRHR and human rights, including HIV with organizations such as KNH, Plan International, Diakonia, UNICEF, Elma Foundation, Segal Family Foundation, UNFPA and SAFAIDs.
In the last four (4) years, AD has been implementing a successful sexual reproductive health project funded by the KNH of Germany in Lusaka Province of Zambia titled; Advancing Social Inclusion and Improved Access to Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) Among Children and Young People in Lusaka. KNH is a Germany-based development organizations working to serve vulnerable and marginalized children in the sub-Sahara and other parts of the world. The thematic areas of this new project are Sexual and reproductive health, rights, youth participation and entrepreneurship.
AD is therefore seeking consultancy services from suitably qualified consultants, consulting firms, and institutions to express interest in undertaking this service.
Professional Requirements for The Consultant
Individuals and teams of experts can apply to carry out the study. They must meet the following requirements:

Should have an academic background in a field of work relevant to development. Proof of education (university degree in a relevant subject).

Should have at least more than 5 years’ experience in conducting feasibility studies, baseline studies, evaluations or other relevant studies.

Should have proven experience in the relevant areas of work of the proposed study with at least 5 years of experience to carry out qualitative analysis related to the topic of this expression of interest.

A very good knowledge of the national context and In-country experience of at least 5 years or at least 3 project/consultancies carried out in the past 10 years.

Experience in planning projects based on children’s rights, sexual reproductive health, governance, entrepreneurship and social accountability.

Fluent in English and Nyanja the local language to be used during the engagements.

The file must include the following documents:

A letter expressing interest to conduct the study, an updated curriculum vitae of the Lead Consultant and key professionals who will be part of the assignment and a list of references of similar assignments.

The Expression of Interest must indicate the methodology envisaged, a workplan indicating the number of working days level of effort for each research team member, the daily fees with the foreseen additional costs as well as any applicable taxes and duties.

An implementation plan in form of a Gant Chart
