Zambia Sugar Plc. Is a subsidiary of lllovo Sugar Africa (Pty) Ltd Group and is the leading Sugar producer in Zambia. Its main activities are the growing of sugar cane, the production and marketing of sugar and other sugar downstream products.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT SPECIALIST x 1
This position reports to the Organizational Effectiveness Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To drive continuous improvement, enhance operational performance, and foster a culture of excellence within the organization.

Focus on analysing processes, measuring performance, leading improvement initiatives, managing change, promoting data-driven decision making, and engaging with stakeholders.

Collaborate with functions to promote a culture of continuous improvement through coordinated OE/Cl methodologies, team effectiveness and performance management.

Process Analysis: to analyse existing processes and workflows within the organization. Identify areas that can be improved and work closely with team members and stakeholders to understand their needs and challenges. By conducting process reviews and gathering data, objective is to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas with potential for improvement.

Performance Measurement: Key role in measuring and monitoring performance metrics across various business functions. Develop key performance indicators (KPls) aligned with organizational goals and objectives and through data collection and analysis, track, and report on these metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Key focus is to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives that drive efficiency and effectiveness. Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify improvement opportunities, define project goals, and design action plans. Using problem-solving methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Agile, lead improvement projects and drive change across the organization.

Change Management: responsible for managing and leading change within improvement initiatives. Work closely with teams and stakeholders to ensure their understanding and acceptance of proposed changes and create a culture of continuous improvement by fostering employee engagement, providing training and support, and communicating the benefits of change.

Knowledge Sharing and Training: Create a learning environment by sharing best practices, providing training, and creating knowledge resources from COE’s and other best practice BU’s. Develop and deliver training programs related to process improvement methodologies, tools, and techniques. Empower employees to identify improvement opportunities and contribute to the organization’s continuous improvement efforts.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Promote data-driven decision making within the organization by collecting, analysing, and interpreting data. Develop standardized reporting mechanisms and dashboards to provide visibility into performance metrics, enabling team leads to make informed decisions n prioritized improvement initiatives and operate to standard practices.

Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders at various levels of the organization, including senior management, department heads, and frontline employees. Intent is to develop strong relationships and foster a collaborative environment. By actively engaging stakeholders, ensure their involvement, address concerns, and gain the necessary support for continuous improvement initiatives.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, Chemical, Reliability or process engineering

3-5 years’ experience and knowledge of OE / Change Management, with a track record of successful change initiatives.

Lean Six Sigma knowledge.
