Job description:
Purpose:
The Dewatering Coordinator (Mechanical) oversees all mechanical aspects of dewatering operations within the mining site, ensuring efficient and reliable water management. This role includes planning, scheduling, maintaining, and optimizing dewatering equipment to support continuous mining operations while adhering to safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience required:
Education
-
An Engineering Degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Civil, etc.)
Skills
-
Strong knowledge of mechanical systems related to pumps, pipelines (HDPE & Steel), and dewatering infrastructure.

Problem-solving abilities in mechanical troubleshooting and system optimization.

Proficiency in maintenance planning and scheduling.
-
Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of maintenance software is a plus.
Experience
-
5 years’ experience in electrical pumping systems, installation, maintenance and operation.

5+ Years experience in the operation and maintenance high TDH and volume diesel pumps.

Experience with powerlines and trolley assist installation (desired but not required)
Core Specific Responsibilities & Expected Deliverables:

Safety & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all safety protocols, regulations, and standards related to mechanical dewatering systems and report hazards.

Equipment Management: Plan and conduct routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs for pumps, pipelines, and associated dewatering equipment.

Operational Monitoring: Track performance metrics for dewatering operations, ensuring equipment efficiency and reliability. Identify opportunities for mechanical improvements.

Field Coordination: Work closely with Mine Operations to coordinate dewatering activities and ensure mechanical reliability during critical operations.

Reporting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and operational efficiency.

Operational Requirements:
This exciting position is based on-site and will be focusing on driving and delivering operational accountability and ownership across various units at Kansanshi mine site. Rosters and working hours may vary depending on business requirements.
Environmental Responsibilities:

Comply with environmental regulations and internal standards related to water management and dewatering activities.

Ensure all dewatering operations align with the Environmental Management System and any applicable Environmental Impact Studies.
