Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
-
Coordinate and lead his team to complete road building projects and maintain roads, ramps within and around the mine. The role will also ensure that time frames are met and projects are completed according to design and to acceptable standards.
Specific Job Responsibility
-
Ensure good operation practices.
-
Controlling and inspecting waste dumps, ramp and road building, general road maintenance.
-
Movement of required material according to a plan and instructions.
-
Ensure compliance of safe mining practices.
-
Report all substandard/unsafe conditions to Superintendent.
-
Operate safely by following procedures,
-
keep KPI’s levels high
-
Ensure that all KPI’s are done and handed to safety department by month end.
-
Ensure that Log Book(s) are filled in correctly after every shift.
-
See that daily given tasks are executed as per daily work plan given by Superintendent.

Ability to operate a two –way radio and knowledge of all emergency procedures
-
Ensure that all handovers are done correctly and accurately.
-
Ensure that incidents, accidents are reported immediately and that reports are completed in full.

Ensure that per-checks are done on all equipment and LV’s – report defects immediately.
-
Ensure that sub-contractors are advised of blasting times and evacuation procedures.

Experience required to perform in this job

At least 5 years’ experience in mining, with not less than 3 years at supervisor level.
Qualifications

Full Grade 12 Certificate
-
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or better

Must be computer literate
-
Valid blasting license
-
First Aid Certificate
-
Valid Zambian driver’s licence
