Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Coordinator – Maintenance Reliability to join the versatile Maintenance team. We are in search of individual who can champion Barrick’s DNA by:

Reporting to the Superintendent – Reliability, you will be responsible for supporting the operations in maximising the availability of the assets through robust reliability improvement and condition monitoring by undertaking equipment strategy development, life cycle cost analysis, asset risk management and reliability improvement.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Develop whole life equipment strategies that utilize RCM processes that meet legislative, OEM and company requirements.

Improve equipment reliability through equipment condition monitoring review and asset integrity review.
-
Develop life cycle cost models for critical assets and optimize life cycle costs.
-
Improve equipment reliability through availability and MTBF trends, bad actor data analysis, high risk equipment condition review and tactical improvement plan support.

Conduct root cause failure analysis using various techniques and implements corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.

Identify the most suitable PdM technology to implement and import equipment generated data.

Develop and maintain condition monitoring workflow process.
-
Develop and implement contamination control strategies that improve component life and reduce premature failures.

Organize and schedule oil sampling, magnetic plug inspection, filter, breather, strainer, screen inspection and fluid consumption are reviewed and acted upon where applicable as part of CBM program.

Develop and maintain the contamination control strategic plan.
-
Competent in maintenance work management processes and supporting processes such as contracts, procurement, rotables management and spares management.

Promote and comply with the LMC Occupational Health & Safety Policy.

Ensure appropriate facilities, procedures, and workforce competence to achieve legal compliance, incident prevention and the achievement of tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Full Grade 12 Certificate
-
Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Industrial Engineering.
-
Minimum of 6 years mining experience focused on either mobile fleet or fixed plant.
-
Demonstrated experience in leading teams of people.
-
Competent in equipment strategy development using RCM methods, life cycle costing, root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination processes.
-
Certified Reliability Engineer Practitioner either with CMRP, Mobius Institute or other recognized institution.
-
Certification in Ultrasonic Crack detection, Vibration Analysis and Thermography is an added advantage.

Holder of a valid driver’s licence.

ABOUT THE TEAM
The Lumwana copper mine is a conventional open pit (truck and shovel) operation. It’s located about 100 kilometers west of Solwezi in Zambia’s Copperbelt — one of the most prospective copper regions in the world. Lumwana ore, which is predominantly sulfide, is treated through a conventional sulfide flotation plant, producing copper concentrate.
