Job description:
Purpose
The Coordinator, Production – Load & Haul is responsible for managing and executing load and haul mining operations during assigned shifts or with a designated crew. The role focuses on meeting targets related to safety, production volume, cost, and quality while ensuring strict compliance with company policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be required to adhere to all relevant requirements, policies, procedures and legal regulations pertaining to health, safety, environment and quality, as well as finance, human resources, and any other regulations as required by the company and relevant to the level of the role and responsibilities of the function.

Assist in managing budget for the Load and Haul Section. This include collaborating on budget development, monitoring and analyzing statistical and financial reports.

Managing and Coordinating production equipment and personnel in the crew/shift

Managing and Coordinating the crew i.e. Personnel motivation, discipline and career growth/ development.

Ensuring there is high standard of Safety Compliance to regulations, policies, laws and company procedures.

Provides leadership and encourages performance in the team.

Communicates routinely and effectively with the Mine Captains, Shift Boss and other supervisory personnel in the crew as and when required.

Tracking or analysis of equipment to ensure there is optimum usage and advise subordinates in the pit where there is found to be excessive under/over utilization of equipment.

Performs other related duties that may be required.
Qualifications

Grade 12 Certificate
-
Diploma or Degree in Mining/Mineral Science or any related or equivalent mining qualification

Valid Blasting License

First Aid Certificate

Driver’s License
Experience
-
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in open-pit mining, with at least 3 years at a supervisory level

Strong mechanical aptitude and experience working with heavy mining equipment

Solid knowledge of mining operations, rules, and safety regulations

Proven track record in supervising and leading teams

Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced mining environment

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
-
Proficiency in using PCs and relevant mining software systems
