This is an onsite role based out of Lusaka Zambia (Harare, Nairobi or Johannesburg)

Purpose of Job:

The Decarbonization Manager will be part of the Group Sustainability team, and be responsible for leading ETG’s strategy to reduce the carbon footprint of warehouses and factories (GHG scope 1 and 2) in line with the SBTi trajectory. The majority of the warehouses and factories are based in Sub-Sahara Africa, with some operations in Southeast Asia and Canada.

The candidate will be stationed in Lusaka Zambia (Harare, Nairobi or Johannesburg can be discussed), and travel to collaborate with factory teams in the various countries to work-out business cases to reduce energy, identify alternative energy options (eg solar), optimize waste streams, and measure and report the cost and GHG impact of interventions after implementation. Where needed, consultancy services will be contracted and supervised by the candidate.

S/he will work closely with other members of the Group Sustainability team and other business functions, including Finance & Treasury and commodity trade departments.
