Deputy Registrar – Human Capital (1)
Purpose
The Deputy Registrar – Human Capital is responsible for providing overall direction and support to the various Human Resource functions of the University of Lusaka (UNILUS).This will include rolling out UNILUS’s HR Policies and Procedures in various aspects of human resource management and oversee the Human Resource Department. The Deputy Registrar – Human Capital will work closely with other Senior Management Teams to ensure compliance with UNILUS administrative standards and with local laws and regulations.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
-Coordinate the administration of the recruitment and selection processes for faculty and staff recruitments.
-Maintain management guidelines by developing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures.
-Provide management with Human Resource reports as required, in a timely manner.
-Develop organizational structures that enhance effectiveness and reduce administrative costs.
-Guide the faculties and heads of departments on organization design and development.
-Coordinate training of Staff in accordance with the University’s Staff Development Policy.
-Plan and implement the administration and maintenance of the performance review process.
-Coordinate job analysis and evaluation findings and recommend changes in line with the work procedures, methods and systems in accordance with the HR policies.
-Manage staff discipline and grievance handling mechanisms and procedures in line with the University’s HR Manual and the prevailing Labour Laws.
-Oversee and manage employee separations with the University and coordinate applicable employee exit (off boarding) activities, including succession planning within functions.
-Undertake such other tasks within the scope of the role as directed by Management from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management or Business Administration from a recognized institution.
-A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management.
-Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive relevant work experience.
-Must be a certified member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management.

-High level of planning and organizing skills.
-Critical thinker.
-Good computer skills.
