Job Description

1. DIRECTOR – INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT)

The University of Lusaka is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and results-oriented individual to lead its Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Department for the following position;

Job Purpose

The Director – ICT will provide strategic leadership and oversee the planning, implementation, and management of all ICT systems and infrastructure in alignment with the institution’s goals.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position listed above, one must have the following qualifications from recognized Institutions;
-A Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
-A PHD qualification in the respective field will be an added advantage.
-A minimum of 8 years of progressive ICT experience, including 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
-Demonstrated experience in ICT strategy, systems management, cybersecurity, and team leadership.
-Sound knowledge of enterprise ICT infrastructure, cloud solutions, and data governance.
-Relevant certifications will be an added advantage.
-Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills

Summary of Job Responsibilities
-Provide strategic leadership and direction for all ICT operations and initiatives.
-Develop and implement institutional ICT policies, strategies, and frameworks.
-Oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure and systems.
-Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of all ICT services and data.
-Lead digital transformation and technology modernization projects.
-Manage ICT budgets, procurement processes, and vendor relationships.
-Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data protection, and regulatory standards.
-Supervise and build capacity among ICT staff through training and performance management.
-Provide timely ICT support and solutions to internal stakeholders.
-Monitor ICT service delivery, evaluate performance, and prepare management reports.
-Advise executive leadership on emerging technologies and ICT risks.
-Promote innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement in ICT services.

-Ability to work with minimum supervision.
-Must be articulate, with strong interpersonal skills.
-High level of planning and organizing skills.
-Highly computer literate, with knowledge of educational digital software and platforms.
-Passionate about teaching as well as ability to research and create new knowledge

Salary Package:
