Director – Research and Innovation
Qualifications
To be considered for the position listed above, one must have the following qualifications from recognized Institution;

A PHD in a relevant field (Science, Technology, Innovation Management, or related disciplines)

A Master’s Degree in any relevant field.

Associate Professor or Full Professor will be an added advantage.
-
A Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching/ Lecturing Methodology.
-
Must be an Assistant Professor or Full Time Professor.
-
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role in research and/or innovation.

Proven track record of research publications, innovation projects, or intellectual property development
-
Strong understanding of Research and innovation ecosystem, including policy, regulatory bodies, and funding mechanisms.

Experience in strategic planning, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
-
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Summary of Job Responsibilities
-
Develop and implement Institutional research and innovation strategies in alignment with sectoral policies.
-
Evaluate research to ensure it addresses the set University objectives and contributes to the growth of the Postgraduate and Undergraduate research work
-
Lead and oversee research programs, innovation hubs and partnerships with local and international academic, industry and development partners.
-
Promote the translation of research outputs into tangible solutions, products, or policy recommendations.
-
Mobilize funding for research and innovation through grants, doner partnerships, and public- private partnerships.
-
Supervise research projects from the early planning stages to project completion.
-
Establish metrics and evaluation tools for assessing research impact and innovation performance.

Build capacity in research and innovation through training, mentorship and institutional support.
