Job description:
Overall Job Purpose
-
Is responsible for overseeing the use, management, and control of the mine Fleet Management System to ensure that all mining fleet is used safely and efficiently to achieve mining plans. The Dispatch Superintendent is also responsible for communicating, guiding and recording production, ore control, loading time, cycle time, delays, down codes, and any variances within the Mine Department including maintenance and geology for day to day operation of Dispatch.

Specific Job Responsibility

In this capacity you will be responsible for the day to day management and operation of activities by overseeing the responsibilities of the Lead Dispatchers within your designated area of responsibility by enforcing discipline as stipulated below.

Make sound decisions that will help the business effectively optimize the Mining Operations.

Maximize compliance of mine operational plan by ensuring that all activities under the supervisors control are carried out optimally to meet the direction of the operation plan.

Monitor the efficiency of the fleet management system, (Modular).
-
Monitor production and maintenance KPIs and advise on trends.
-
Monitor dispatcher performance and advise remedial action.

Direct all Dispatch activities.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Manager.

Effectively contribute to team performance and achievement of production targets.
Job Specific Competencies

Ensure Compliance to Mining Plan 36/24 hours dig plan and all geological requirements from Geology Department.

Ensure dispatch team maintains full data integrity, accuracy and reliability. This is inclusive of all data relating to Production and Maintenance.

Determine system abnormalities and reports directly to the Manager for correction.

Attend all production review meeting as may be requested.

Supervise all the Dispatchers and make sure they fulfil their duties.

Experience required to perform in this job
-
3 to 5 years of experience working in Mining Dispatcher role using a Fleet Management System (Modular, Jigsaw, etc.). Modular Mining Application, Provision, Mine Care “desirable”

Previous Mine production supervisor or Mine Operation Planning
-
5-10 years of open pit mining experience at a senior level
-
A proven understanding of all mining operational functions

Previous experience with fleet management systems and trolley assist operations
Qualifications
-
Full Grade 12 Certificate
-
Must have a minimum of Degree in Mining Engineering or its equivalent.

Certification in Dispatch Systems
-
Must be a registered member of the EIZ
