Job Description

The Driver will be responsible for driving and maintaining company’s vehicles to facilitate mobility of staff, material and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

Transport

• Drives safely and regularly company’s vehicles on official business in order to facilitate operations

Log book

• Updates timely and accurately motor vehicle logbook to enhance accountability for official trips and fuel usage

Vehicle Inspection

• Checks regularly pool vehicles in order to ascertain their road worthiness

Vehicle Cleanliness

• Undertakes regular cleaning of pool vehicles in order to maintain corporate image of INFRATEL

Accidents Report

• Prepares timely accidents report in order to facilitate decision making.

Vehicle Maintenance

• Initiates timely maintenance of pool vehicles and ensures that they are road worthy.

Performance Management

• Undertakes timely development of performance targets in order to facilitate appraisal

Minimum Qualifications

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate
• Craft Certificate in Auto Mechanics
• Valid SADC driver’s license class C

• Basic mechanical knowledge
• knowledge in road safety rules
• understanding of the highway code
• Good judgement on the road
• Ability to collaborate and work with a team
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong background in various aspects of driving
• Good defensive driving skills
• Logical thinking and problem solving
• Highly proven ethical conduct and free from criminal record
• Courteous
• Ability to work in a high pressure environment

Years of Experience Required

• Minimum of three (3) years driving experience
• Minimum of 1 one (1) year corporate experience
