About This Role
The Driver will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of assigned vehicles, including conducting daily safety checks, ensuring cleanliness, and adhering to traffic laws. The role includes managing vehicle service schedules, monitoring fuel usage, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring all legal documentation such as road tax and insurance is up to date. The Driver will also be required to promptly report incidents, support fleet administration processes, and consistently promote and adhere to Child Safeguarding principles.
Primary Responsibilities
Vehicle Management:

Conduct daily vehicle checks (tyre pressure, oil, indicators, etc.) to ensure safety and serviceability.

Keep the vehicles clean, fuelled, and in good working condition.

Drive safely and in compliance with Zambian traffic laws.

Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Report any mechanical issues immediately and arrange for repairs when necessary.
Fleet Administration:

Maintain vehicle service records and coordinate servicing.

Monitor and verify fuel consumption; provide monthly fuel reconciliation to the HR and Administration Specialist.

Follow up on road tax, insurance, and any claims.
Documentation & Reporting:

Accurately complete vehicle logbooks and other required documentation
Child Safeguarding:
Stay alert to child safeguarding risks, understand and follow the Child Safeguarding Policy, and act in accordance with its principles.
Other Duties:
Assist with office errands and other administrative tasks as assigned.by the supervisor.
Required Experience and Education

At least Grade 12 school certificate. Certificate in Mechanics will be an added advantage.

Zambian Driving licence valid for more than 4 years

Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working as a driver in an NGO or similar organization or 3 – 4 years’ experience in the same capacity

Verification of qualification with Zambia Qualification Authority.
