SNV Zambia, with the support of the Swiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), is implementing the Opportunities for Youth Employment (OYE +) project phase 2, which seeks to improve the livelihoods and prospects of 13,000 out of school youths (among whom at least 50% are young women) by creating ‘green’ jobs and entrepreneurship. The project aims to improve the livelihoods and future prospects of youths through “Green Employment” and Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Agrifood, Renewable energy, and other emerging Sectors.

The Driver is part of operations team within SNV Zambia, which focuses on providing logistical support.
The driver will provide essential support to the Country Operations Manager, the Operations department and project team during the project’s implementation phase. Reporting directly to the Country Operations Manager, the incumbent will engage with both SNV personnel directly involved in project support and those providing indirect support.
The driver core responsibilities encompass provision of Logistics to the project. This role includes transporting project personnel, equipment, and materials to and from project sites, meetings, and other relevant location in a safe and timely manner.
Must have valid driver’s license (PSV), minimum Class C issued by the Zambian government agency, A minimum education level of grade 12 certificate, basic mechanics with certification. Knowledge of first aid, a clean driving record, physical fitness, knowledge of traffic laws and prior driving experience.
He/she must be adept in logistics, good use of computers, be a team player, fostering clear communication, and problem-solving, adapt to change, possess technical proficiency, staying organized, teamwork, optimizing resource allocation, and maintain meticulous documentation.
Vetting
SNV carries out rigorous background and reference checks concerning possible safeguarding incidents for all candidates applying for national determined positions. As SNV participates in the Inter-Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme, all reference checks include a request to past employers to fill in a questionnaire regarding Misconduct (sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, sexual harassment as well as Fraud), the “Statement of Conduct”. This Statement of Conduct adopts the definitions used in the Scheme.
