Hitachi Construction Machinery Zambia Company Limited invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following position on Contract basis:

Purpose of the role:

To operate a 15 Tonne Road Truck and a 16 Seater Passenger Vehicle and facilitating delivery or collection of goods to internal and external customers, and transporting passengers.

Reports to: Project Manager

Branch: Kansanshi

Duration: 15 Months

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Driver will be required to perform the following tasks:

• Transporting passengers over specified routes according to time schedule;
• Providing Mine Site support to the Project by collecting and delivering goods safely;
• Promoting a positive and professional image of the company through excellent customer service and interpersonal skills;
• Ensuring that log books and pre-start check-lists are filled up correctly and submitted;
• Ensuring the vehicle is in excellent condition for use and maintaining a clean and safe work environment;
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all passengers on the bus i.e. seat beats should be worn by all passengers before under-taking of any trip;
• Adhere to all traffic rules, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation;
• Drive defensively, taking precautions to avoid accidents and hazards on the roads;
• Reporting any incidents, accidents, or operational issues to the appropriate personnel;
• Maintain accurate records of daily mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle inspections;
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Full Grade Twelve (12) Certificate
• Valid Class C or better Driver’s Licenc
• Must have at least 3 years’ driving experience.
• Valid Silicosis Certificate to operate vehicle in the Mine.

• Knowledge of basic health and safety rules.
• Knowledge of First Aid.
• Advanced driving skills.
• Knowledge of basic automotive maintenance procedures.
• Must pass Dover Test.
