Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronic, Instrument/Control preferred)
Grade 12 Certificate
Professional Member of the EIZ
Job role
Leads the team in resolving instrument, control & electrical technical issues.
Defines engineering requirements related to all electrical work
Coordinates the efforts of sub-contractor(s) in his area of specialty, ensuring that the contractor performs diligently all his/her obligations under the contract (quality, schedule, and cost).
Maintains logs and verifying all items are correct prior to pre-inspection
Assists in developing the annual and multi-year electrical plan, ensuring that the annual plan is correctly inserted
Checks the electrical spending, and ensuring jobs adhere to planned cost and timeline.
Initiates the participation of the various internal areas/ groups, ensuring that input to the contractor(s) is adequate and timely, and in accordance with the roles & responsibilities.
Provides direction on electrical scope and requirements to the suppliers based on specifications included in the procurement agreement.
Complies with the completed inspection report in a timely manner.
Providing technical assistance during construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up
Communicates issues, questions, or concerns to supervisors/engineering manager and implementing contractor.
Ensure systematic review, application and optimization of motor lubrication program
·Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance electrical job plans & create and update electrical inspection job plans.
Organize Major Electrical Maintenance and Inspection schedules
Ensure the planned inspection of all plant electrical equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection results
Order all non-stock electrical parts and materials as required by the job plan
Inform the Engineering Manager or Assistant when a job is ready to be scheduled.
Assist the Engineering Manager and Assistant with the preparation and control of the annual electrical budget
