Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for assisting the Electrical Supervisor in establishment of preventative and responsive Electrical maintenance and development within the process area and across the site, to ensure maximum operational performance is achieved in a safe and cost-effective manner while ensuring compliance with relevant procedures, polices, legal requirements and consent conditions.
Your duties & Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

Cooperation with the Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the Electrical distribution system and machinery around the process plant and auxiliary circuits.

Carry out planned and unplanned work as directed by the Supervisor.
-
Perform maintenance, switching operations, installation, repair, replacement, testing, and troubleshooting, transformers, substations, switches, power circuit breakers, metal-clad switchgear line-ups, manholes, cables, protective relays, metering circuits, control circuits, and other electrical equipment used in the distribution of electric power at the 33kV, 11kV, and 525V voltage levels.

Utilizes various measuring and testing instruments to work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring and electrical equipment.

Determine malfunctions and return equipment back into required operating condition.

Experience in understanding electrical diagrams, installation and testing of ABB and Siemens protective relays, and working from drawings.

Performs several types of diagnostics with test equipment. Transformers, motors, cables, Siemens MCCs, ABB Switchgear and UPSs (Uninterruptible Power Supply).

Proficient and knowledgeable in techniques and equipment used for locating underground cables.
-
Install, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot the standby generator.
-
Achievement of maintenance compliance targets in the most cost-effective manner
-
The position will be expected to positively impact and contribute to the company’s performance through leadership and individual activity.

Splices cables, repairs, or replaces protection devices, keeps records on various equipment
To be considered for the position, the applicant must have the following:
-
Grade 12 Certificate
-
Minimum of Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering
-
Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
-
Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian driver’s license.
