Reporting to the Coordinator Mining Projects, you will be responsible for carrying out operational projects and assisting the mining operation to focus on meeting production targets.
Your duties will include but are not limited to the following:

Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations.

Coordinate between engineering teams, contractors and suppliers.
-
Develop project plans, schedules, and timelines
-
Prepare progress reports and updates for stakeholders
-
Monitor project costs and resource use.
-
Identify potential project risks and devise mitigation strategies.
-
Adjust plans to manage delays, scope changes, or resource constraints.
-
Visit project sites to supervise work or troubleshoot problems.
-
Ensure on-site activities follow safety and engineering protocols.
-
Review engineering designs and drawings.
-
Communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
-
Maintain documentation for all project phases.
-
Conduct inspections or ensure quality checks are done.
-
Ensure that deliverables meet quality standards.
-
Manage documentation related to quality control.
-
Solve technical issues as they arise during project execution.
-
Work with procurement to source materials and equipment.
-
Track expenses to stay within budget
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
-
Must have a Grade 12 School Certificate.

Degree in Mining Engineering
-
Significant experience (3 years) in the open pit mining industry in large multi pit operations utilising large scale mining equipment i.e. drill rigs and blasting experience essential.

Experience in projects planning
-
Experience with mine designing software
-
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications.

Strong report writing and presentation skills.

Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian driver’s licence or be able to obtain one.
